Why meditation is good for you.

Yoga and Meditation Essentials

There are many reasons why Meditation is so good for you. Many people all around the world practice Meditation every single day. Start your morning off with Meditation and you may have a more positive vibe throughout the day.

Meditation is the habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts.

The popularity of meditation is increasing as more and more people around the world discover its many health benefits.

You can use it to increase awareness of yourself and your surroundings. Many people think of it as a way to reduce stress and develop concentration as it helps you control your thoughts.

Many positive benefits.

People also use the practice to develop other beneficial habits and feelings. For instance, a positive mood and outlook, self-discipline, and healthy sleep patterns. In addition, you can even develop an increased pain tolerance.

This reduces many of the harmful effects of stress, such as the release of inflammatory chemicals called cytokines. These inflammatory chemicals are released in response to stress and can affect your mood, leading to depression.

These effects can disrupt sleep, promote depression and anxiety, increase blood pressure, and contribute to fatigue and cloudy thinking.

So, enough proof that regular meditating can be a huge benefit to your mental health! It can also help you to become more creative as it opens your mind to new ideas.

The power of Meditation: ‘Become one with your mind, once and for all’

Why is Meditation so Powerful? Meditation is about becoming one with your mind! Learning something about yourself that you may not have known before you undertook the practice of Meditation.

When you first start Meditating you will soon learn the power of it. For the first time you will feel and understand the way you went through life on auto-pilot. You now have the power to stop that and to become fully in control of your mind and your thoughts.

Mind and Body.

I once read in a book by dr. Joe Dispenza how your body becomes the mind. He gave a great example: When you buy something with your card and you have to type in your pin, you don’t even think about it. Your fingers just press the buttons. It is only when you actually do stop to think about it , you all of a sudden forget your pin.

This is because your body has taken over, it became your mind. And that is how a lot of people just float through life. It is with the power of Meditation that you can stop this and let your mind be in control again.

Meditation may also help control job-related anxiety. One study found that employees who used a mindfulness meditation app for 8 weeks experienced improved feelings of well-being and decreased distress and job strain, compared with those in a control group.

These effects can disrupt sleep, promote depression and anxiety, increase blood pressure, and contribute to fatigue and cloudy thinking.

Meditation is powerful because it offers you the time to reflect on your thoughts and focus mainly on your breathing or some other aspect of your being. Therefore it gives you the awareness to refocus your mind on the present moment. As opposed to the past or the future. This kind of awareness is a useful skill as you progress through your everyday life.

People who meditate, generally lead happier lives then those who don’t. That is because Meditation is known to enhance the flow of constructive thoughts and positive emotions. Even a few minutes spent meditating regularly can make a big difference.

Start today!

So, now that you know the many benefits of Meditating you probably want to start practicing it yourself! Who can blame you.

Here are a few simple steps to start Meditation:

Find the most quiet place in your house, or go out into the beautiful nature and make sure you are comfortable. You don’t immediately have to sit cross-legged if that’s not comfortable for you. If you would like you can invest in a meditation cushion to sit up higher.

Just take a deep breath, put your arms in front of your heart, take in your surroundings and then close your eyes.

Just sit and breath naturally. Do not try to control it in any way. Just let it happen.

Then just focus all of your attention on your breath. Feel how it comes into and through your body and how it leaves your body… That’s it!
